Fat helps our body to absorb the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, K and beta-carotene. However, the decisive factor is which fat we supply our body with. Our high-quality organic oils are produced sustainably - but not only for consumption, we also offer dental and dental oil for oral hygiene.

Time for an oil change?

Versatile linseed oil

Linseed oil is produced from linseed – more precisely, it is obtained from the mature seeds of common linseed (Linum usitatissimum). This is also known as flax. Flax is a particularly old crop plant for fiber and oil production and was even used in the textile industry, where it was gradually replaced by cotton and lost importance. Now this important crop plant is slowly being rediscovered. It is becoming increasingly popular, especially in the kitchen, not least because of its many valuable ingredients.
Linseed oil is much more than just food. For example, it is an excellent source of plant-based omega-3 fatty acids. Did you know that the omega-3 fatty acid content of linseed oil is almost equal to that of oily fish? People with a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle therefore have a great culinary alternative.

BIOGENA premium Organic linseed oil supplies the human body with high-quality, plant-based omega-3 fatty acid, in the form of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). For example, the daily intake of 2 g ALA (approx. 1-2 teaspoons of linseed oil) contributes to maintaining a normal cholesterol level in the blood.

Use of linseed oil

Linseed oil is particularly used in cold cuisine. It must never be heated. Fresh salads and vegetables are perfect for the nutty flavors that are characteristic of linseed oil. Fruit salads with fresh nuts are also excellent with the oil. It can also be used in the preparation of pesto and dips. Linseed oil can also be used to refine muesli or cooked foods such as porridge or soups.
