Wild garlic (Allium ursinum) is not only one of the oldest native wild herbs, our ancestors also recognised the inner values of the garlic plant very early on. According to historical stories, bears that feasted on the herbs after their winter hibernation regained their old bear powers. This is probably one of the reasons why the herb bears the name of the intelligent wild animal in many European languages.
